Dear All,

To date, I have personally called upon 80% of the 3,000 homes in Steyning. I have had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful fellow residents. I am personally grateful for the support from many of you. In the remaining few days left before the 5 May Horsham District Council election, I look forward to calling upon the balance of homes in the ward.

I shall continue to listen to you and represent your concerns to the best of my ability.  If you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me on SusNickH@aol.com

Regards

MY CHARTER WITH YOU

I have a proven 23 year record of public service delivery in senior positions at Wiston House in Steyning. I get things done!

I am committed to listening to residents, answering your queries promptly, following up your concerns with District Council officials and fighting for Ashurst and Steyning’s relative uniqueness within Horsham District Council.

I will oppose any Conservative attempts to impose car parking charges in Steyning which could harm local business and employment.

I am committed to pressing for overdue improvements in the management of traffic in the High Street, including a review of traffic warden management.

I will aim to help build upon Steyning’s proud history to increase UK and international tourism.

I am proactively advocating the location of the skateboard park opposite the Leisure Centre on Horsham Road. Along with several residents I oppose the proposed Memorial Playing Field site. I also have my doubts about a new site which was proposed after the March 2011 Your Steyning survey suggesting the Steyning Football Club ground as a possibility.

With Liberal Democrat County Councillor Derek Deedman, I am advocating improvements in the traffic management and safety on Horsham Road. There is a need for a 20 mile per hour speed limit (20 is plenty!) and a crossing to the existing bus stop.

I support Derek Deedman’s campaign to minimise reductions in bus services.

As part of a major party committed to delivering local government services, if elected to Horsham District Council, I would have greater ability than Conservative bankbenchers and Independents to make public, and therefore influence, issues which have a differential impact on Steyning and Ashurst.

As a member of the Liberal Democrat Focus Team, I am committed to keeping residents informed on local issues and what I am doing for you.

I support the Yes campaign for the Alternative Vote (AV) in the May 5 Referendum as the means to secure a fairer system for electing Members of Parliament, and ensuring more balanced policies. AV will ensure there are no safe seats and ensure your Parliamentarians are more accountable to you.

What I ask from you is your vote on 5 May to represent you as the Liberal Democrats Councillor for Ashurst and Steyning in Horsham District Council !
